You love what Cloverly represents: an easy way to offset the carbon costs of ecommerce shipping and other everyday activities.

But...'d like more control over the instruments that Cloverly uses to do that offsetting.

OK. You can have it.

Cloverly's API can help with sustainability in many ways, but its most common use is greening the shipping for customers of ecommerce stores. By default, Cloverly selects the geographically closest offset source to the shipping destination.

Maybe, though, you're an ecommerce store owner who holds a particular offset project close to your heart, and you'd like to help it. Perhaps you really want to encourage the development of wind energy. Or possibly you prefer to support projects near where you live or operate rather than where your customers are.

Now, you can do those things.

Cloverly has just added the ability for you to create a custom portfolio of instruments for greening carbon costs. You can opt to use only certain ones from the full range of Cloverly's offerings. You can even ask us to add a specific instrument that's not currently in our portfolio, just for you.

For example, Calita Intimates, a proudly Canadian company, is offsetting the carbon impact of all its ecommerce shipping on behalf of its customers during April, to celebrate Earth Month. They asked if we could source all of the offsets from Canada. We could and did.

Cloverly uses carbon offsets, Renewable Energy Credits, and Guarantees of Origin to compensate for carbon emissions by avoiding, offsetting, or sequestering the same amount of carbon elsewhere in the environment. All of our instruments are registered and verified.

Our portfolio currently contains offsets, RECs, and GOs from seven countries across North America, Europe, and Asia: the US, Canada, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and Turkey. Go to for the full list.
