A majority of US adults take specific action in their daily lives to protect the environment. Or at least they say they do.

We couldn't resist taking advantage of our last chance to promote ourselves in 1999. However, the results of a recent Pew Research Center survey about US adults' views on climate and energy do illustrate a larger point:

People really are concerned about climate change and other threats to the environment. They really would like to do something to help. If you give them an easy way to make a difference, they'll go for it.

That's why, when asked whether they took any action every day to help protect the environment, 80% of those surveyed said they reduced food waste, 72% said they cut down on single-use plastics, 68% said they used less water, 51% said they drove less or carpooled, and 41% said they ate less red meat.
